Additional Info: A major Infrastructure Ontario project. This new urban six-lane, 11 kilometre long, below-grade highway will eventually connect with the yet-to-be-built Gordie Howe Bridge. The largest of the girders produced for this project (NU1900 girders) are 86 feet long and weigh 114,000 lb. These were the first NU girders ever produced and erected in Ontario. A major benefit of this girder is the wide bottom flange, which provides better stability during handling, shipping, and erection.
